Glass, bone, moss, mirrors, found objects 1973 is a layered art installation discussing life, death, and choice. It is a hug to anyone with a uterus and a wake up call to those without. It is an homage to the mothers before us and those making the choice to become one, or to not. Growth can come in many forms and is represented here with flora and fauna. Mirrors allow us to see ourselves; through self reflection we can connect with our existence, our choices, and our heritage. Through experiments, studies, and found objects we have created a space full of complex chaos, sculptures, and patterns. This installation is a statement about the human condition and the interplay of agony and love that we use to cope with it. This show is a collaboration between Pat Langley and Kristi Totoritis and was on display at the Chrysler Museum of Art during April 2023.
